The listening section is the final part of the PTE Academic test. You'll have about 45-57 minutes to complete 8 different task types. The listening section tests your ability to understand spoken English in various academic contexts. Read on for descriptions of each task and tips for mastering them.

Task 1 – Summarize Spoken Text

You will hear a lecture or presentation (60-90 seconds) and then write a summary of what you heard. You have 10 minutes to complete this task. This task contributes to both Listening and Writing scores.

Requirements:

  • Write 50-70 words
