Speaking is marked by the two examiners in the room with the 2022 grids. Each part has its own task criterion, and three language criteria cover the whole test: vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation.
Every paper from A1 to C1 is marked out of 25, for a total of 100. You pass with at least 50/100 and at least 5/25 in every paper: a mark below 5 is eliminatory. At DALF C2 the two papers are marked out of 50 each; you need 50/100 and at least 10/50 in each.
Each criterion is marked on four performance levels, with fixed points for each: not answered or insufficient; below the target level; at the target level (for example B2); and at the target level "+" (B2+). Two examiners mark every production, as FEI requires at every level.
| Level | Task criteria | Points per task | Vocabulary | Grammar | Pronunciation | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DELF A1 | 3 parts: guided interview, information exchange, role-play | 4 each (0 / 1 / 2.5 / 4) | 5 | 4 | 4 | 25 |
| DELF A2 | 3 parts: guided interview, short talk, role-play | 4 each | 5 | 4 | 4 | 25 |
| DELF B1 | 3 parts: guided interview, role-play, point of view | 4 each | 5 | 4 | 4 | 25 |
| DELF B2 | 2 parts: presentation, debate | 5 each (0 / 1 / 3 / 5) | 5 | 5 | 5 | 25 |
| DALF C1 | 2 parts: presentation, discussion | 5 each | 5 | 5 | 5 | 25 |
| DALF C2 | 3 parts: report, argued view, debate | 4 each | 5 | 4 | 4 | 25, doubled to 50 |
Vocabulary is scored 0 / 1 / 3 / 5 at every level. At A1-B1 and C2, grammar and pronunciation are scored 0 / 1 / 2.5 / 4; at B2 and C1, 0 / 1 / 3 / 5.
The C2 oral paper is marked on one grid out of 25, then doubled to 50. Your understanding of the recording counts through the first task, the report.
