How accurate is Test Succeed's TOEIC scoring?

Listening and Reading tasks are scored automatically on correct and incorrect answers, exactly like the real test. Speaking and Writing are scored by AI trained on the same criteria ETS raters apply - pronunciation, intonation and stress, grammar, vocabulary, cohesion, and the relevance and completeness of what you produced - and every written answer comes back with a corrected version of your text.

What is the TOEIC test format?

The TOEIC Listening & Reading test has 200 multiple-choice questions in seven parts: Photographs, Question-Response, Conversations and Short Talks make up the 45-minute Listening section, and Incomplete Sentences, Text Completion and Reading Comprehension make up the 75-minute Reading section. The TOEIC Speaking & Writing test is taken separately: 11 speaking questions in about 20 minutes and 8 writing questions in about 60 minutes.

How long does the TOEIC test take?

The Listening & Reading test is about two hours of testing - 45 minutes of Listening and 75 minutes of Reading - plus roughly half an hour of registration and paperwork at the test centre. Speaking and Writing add about 20 and 60 minutes respectively and are booked as their own sitting.

Is the TOEIC test adaptive?

No. TOEIC Listening & Reading is a fixed-form test: everybody answers the same number of questions in the same order, and nothing you do changes which question comes next. That is the opposite of the adaptive routing used by the 2026 TOEFL, and it means pacing - not a routing module - is what protects your score.

What is a good TOEIC score?

There is no pass mark; each employer or institution sets its own bar. In practice 600 is a common minimum for office roles, 700-800 is typical for internationally facing jobs, and 900+ signals near-native workplace fluency. On the CEFR alignment ETS publishes for Listening & Reading, roughly 550 corresponds to B1, 785 to B2 and 945 to C1.

How is TOEIC Speaking scored?

Each question type is rated on the criteria that fit it: pronunciation and intonation and stress on the read-aloud items; those plus grammar, vocabulary and cohesion on the picture and question items; and on the final opinion question also relevance and completeness of content. The ratings convert to a 0-200 scaled score reported with one of eight proficiency levels.

How is TOEIC Writing scored?

The five picture sentences are rated on grammar and on relevance to the photograph. The two email replies are rated on the quality and variety of your grammar, vocabulary and organisation, and on whether you carried out every instruction. The essay is rated on whether the opinion is supported with reasons and examples, plus grammar, vocabulary and organisation. Ratings convert to a 0-200 scaled score with one of nine proficiency levels.

Does a wrong answer lose marks on TOEIC?

No. TOEIC Listening & Reading has no negative marking, so an unanswered question and a wrong one are worth the same. Always fill in every answer, even when you are guessing on the last Part 7 set with a minute left.
